Having Sportmanship

This week for PB4L we learned about how to show an understanding of sportsmanship.

What is good sportsmanship?  A good sportsmanship is when people who are playing or watching a sport treat each other with respect. This also includes players, parents, coaches, and officials.

What are sport officials? Sport officials is a type of sport, competition, and responsible for the rules of the sports, including sportsmanship decisions.

First, we discussed what good sportsmanship is. A good sportsmanship is when people who are playing or watching a sport treat each other with respect. This also includes players, parents, coaches, and officials. For example : If a girl was playing rugby and other people were watching her they would give her a clap, compliment her on how she played well, respecting her, and other types of kind words. If I was that girl I would feel impressed and happy.

Next, Miss Tele’a explained to us what our task is and what to do after. We had to make a copy of a poster and write down details about good sport and bad sport. For example : I wrote down for good sport, good sport is where someone compliments others of how they have done good or bad. (It doesn’t matter if you lose or win.) Miss Tele’a created a jamboard with examples about good and bad sports. We can make up our own type of words or we can copy the jamboard and add details (it’s up to you).

Lastly, after we finished making and decorating our poster we had to choose ONE of the following tasks. The 3 tasks were to create a slideshow that teaches someone how to be a good sport, create an animation of someone playing any sport, and write a recount about your soccer session with Coach Francis using photos from this folder.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at finishing off my DLO. I need to improve on adding more details into my work because it is kinda basic but I tried my best.

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another & experiences. For example : someone will say “he has a total lack of empathy for anybody”.

First we had to watch a video called Mojo the Director that introduced us to the importance of empathy. For example : Mojo felt embarrassed because Sarah quitted the play group.

Next we had to contribute to a  Jamboard that is about empathy and answering the questions about what we watched. For example : I said ” it is important to have and use empathy because it gives you the ability to understand and share feelings with each other”.

Lastly we had to create a poster explaining what empathy is and what it looks like in the classroom. For example : empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another & experiences.

First I had to write down on a sticky note the desired behaviours at lunch and morning tea time. For example : Never Bully someone for their talent because they might get sad and won’t do a talent anymore if you bully people.

Next I had to answer every single question on this tab called jam board. Jam board is a type of learning that you can answer and talk about. For what you should do if there is a problem I will write down “Ask for help if it’s really bad and important.

Lastly I had to make a DLO explaining the list of the desired behaviours at lunch time. For example : For lunch time you should not disrespect people or else something bad will happen.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at explaining the list of the desired behaviours. I need to improve on adding more details.

Next I had to make a google draw about the scary things you were shy or scared of. I talked about meeting new people because I get scared of people I don’t know.

Lastly I had to write down some facts about meeting new people. For example : It’s very scary meeting new people because you haven’t or I haven’t met them before and don’t know much about the person you met.

Positive Attiude

This week I learned about Positive Attitude.

First I had to write what Positive Attitude can help you. For example : Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.

This is about when someone is having a sad and bad day. Give them space, Make them feel happy again, Tell them to breathe in and out, Be friends with them, Hangout with them, Let them have food and be respectful to them.

Eating Times

I learned about manners and cleanliness eating.

There are 2 types of eating. Manners and Cleaniless.

Manner eating is, eating with mouth closed, don’t talk with your mouth full, use our utensils to cut a pick up with the fork to eat.

Cleanliness eating is, if you drop your food pick it up, eat over your plate/tray, wash your hands before eating.

Manners eating is eating normal and not eating silly.

Cleanliness eating is like cleaning up the mess you dropped which is apart of food.
