Food Labels

This week for inquiry we learned about identifying the key components of a food label and reading and understanding food labels to make informed decisions about what we can eat.

Food Labels is any tag, brand, mark, pictorial or other descriptive matter, written, printed, stencilled, marked, embossed or impressed on, or attached to, a container of food or food product.

First, we had to discuss in a group what the food label is. Food label is any tag that is on a container or food product. In a group we took turns telling each other what the food label is.

Next, we had to make a copy of a google slide that talks about food labels and write down what they are and why it’s important. We also had to customise the google slide to my preference (colour, font, images, and food labels). For example: Is the amount of food listed on a product’s Nutrition Facts label, or food label. Different products have different serving sizes and the reason why it’s important is because Serving sizes can help you when choosing foods and when comparing similar items while shopping

Lastly, we had to show our teacher the information (google slide) about serving size, calorie count, nutritional facts, ingredients list, and allergies.
