Basic Facts Boxes

This week I did Basic Facts Boxes.

First I had to pick a subject befores putting in the answer. For example : There are +, -, x, and divisions. I picked takeaways because I think it’s a great way to start.

Next I had to pick a random to start with or order to start with. I picked an order to start with easy and then random to end with hard. ‘

Lastly I had to press check to see if my answer was correct. I got 100/100 because I have been learning my basic facts while I am away from school.

I enjoyed doing Basic Facts Boxes. I did well at figuring out the answer. I need to improve on doing divisions next.

Solve emoji

This week I learned about solving emoji.

Solve emoji is a type of maths game you can play.

First I had to pick a problem I wanted to solve. There were lots of different subjects. For example : There are +, -, x, and divisions.

Next I had to figure out the problem and what the emoji is worth of. For example : Pencils are worth about 5.

Lastly I had to think or figure out the answer for it. I worked out the problem by solving the pictures / emojis. The answer was 6.

I enjoyed solving emoji. I did well at figuring out the emojis. I need to improve on doing a harder level.

SSR Selfie

This week I learned about SSR Selfie.

First I had to pick a book to read for 15 minutes. I picked Drama because I think it’s a great story to read for 15 minutes.

Next I had to write down what happened in the story. For example : Callie loves theater. And while she would totally try out for her middle school’s production of Moon Over Mississippi, she’s a terrible singer. Instead she’s the set designer for the stage crew, and this year she’s determined to create a set worthy of Broadway on a middle-school budget. But how can she, when she doesn’t know much about carpentry, ticket sales are down, and the crew members are having trouble working together.

Then I had to list three new words with their meaning in my own words. For example : Mississippi : I think Mississippi is counting numbers but in a different way.

Afterwards, I had to write down who the author or illustrator was. For example : The author is Raina Telgemier.

Lastly I had to write down who the main characters were. For example : The main characters are Callie, Lizz, Matt, Raina, and her friends.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at reading the book for 15 minutes. I need to improve on reading the book for 16 minutes because I will learn more about it.

Recount Planning Table

This week I learned about the Recount Planning Table.

First I had to pick a picture. The 4 options were a lady that makes a robot, A boy playing his game but he doesn’t know there’s lots of eyes spying, a man on a google meet looking outside, and the last one is a house next to the beach. I picked the man on a google meet because it looks like a fun idea to write.

Next I had to hook a title in the story so the people knew what the story was talking about. For example : my title would be called scary cause it might be scary.

Then I had to write down the reveal. For example : who was there? Me and my puppy. Where were you? In my room. When was it? On sunday. Why did it happen? when I was in a google meet. How did you get there? in a car.

Lastly, I had to write 3 paragraphs. The three paragraphs have to begin with a time connective word and I have to show what happened in time order. For example : First me and my puppy were in our room on a google meet. Everyone was there and I went to greet myself. I was basically famous because I have 2.m subscribers.

This week I did Basic Facts Boxes.

First I had to picka subject. For example : +, -, and x.

Next I picked – because I think it will be fun to learn about the takeaway.

Lastly I had to write in the answer and I got them all right.

Summarising Template

This week I learned about summarising.

First I read a book called beekeeper. I had to write down 20 important words about the story. For example : Beekeepers, honey, bees, jack dad, honey bees, collect, hives, flowers, honeycomb, wax, shapes, frames, nectar, sweet, water, wings, special veil, calm, and cut.

Next I had to pick out the 6 important words that are in the 20 important words. For example : Beekeeper, honey, bees, special veil, jack’s dad, and collect.

Then I had to highlight the important words. For example : beekeeper.

Lastly I had to write 4 types of sentences that flow with the 6 important words. These are one of my sentences that flow the 6 important words. Jack’s Dad wears a special veil to protect themselves because they might get stung.This week I learned about summarising

Number of the day

This week I learned about the number of the day.

First I had to figure out if the number was odd or even. For example : Seven hundred and fifty six is an even number because six is basically in the 2’s.

Next I had to write the number in letters without words. For example : if the number is 756 I can say in letters. Seven hundred and fifty six.

After I had to write the numbers in to place values. For example : In the thousand there are zero because there’s no thousands in the number. In the hundreds it’s seven because the number is seven hundred and fifty six. In the tens there are five because in the number it’s seven hundred and fifty six. In the ones the number is six.

Then I had to do a few activities that are part of the number. The little activite is that there is a kind of question. For example : I had to round the seven hundred and fifty six to the nearest 10. The answer is seven hundred and sixteen.

Lastly I had to write a story about the number. For example : There were 756 people in the city. 56 people went home. How many people are left?

I enjoyed answering the question. I did well at writing the number in letters / words. I need to improve on writing a better story.

Cybersmart

This week I learned about how to make bookmarks and what it means.

Bookmarks are important for school because it helps you navigate to your learning quickly.

First I had to decided which student has the important bookmarks. For example : Student number one bookmarks are, Goku image search, NRL image search, writing week 1, pancakes recipe, cool math games, and youtube. The problem is that they are not part of school work but student number 3 bookmarks are, School School, Class site, CLass blog, My blog, Google drive, and Gmail. Student number 3 is the most important bookmarks because its part of school stuff.

Next I had explain why number 3 has the most important bookmarks. The reason why is because it talks about school but the other 2 is different since Goku is inappropriate because its not part of school stuff.

Lastly I had to share my bookmarks and explain why I have chosen to bookmarks the websites. I chosen this bookmarks because google drive is where you save all of your work from school, I chose stepwebs because its a type of game you can learn from, I chose the panmure bridge school site because its our school site that leads you to everything, I chose the LS1 sit because it’s where you know what your doing, I chose blog post because its where you blog and talk about your work.

I enjoyed doing bookmarks. I did well at explaning why I chosen the bookmarks. I need to improve on bookmark more.

Summarising

This week we learned how to go through a guided discussion.

In partners we had to talk about what the book is about. The book is about honeymakers that collects honey from the hives.

First we had to talk about what summarise is. Summarise is to say something in fewer or less word. We also had to talk about what keywords is. Keywords is a important words to unlock a new information.

Next we had to comment and answer the questions that are on the template. For example : Predict what you think this text might be about. I was thinking its about someone taking care of the bees & my partner was thinking someones dad’s is a beekeeper that looks after bees.

Lastly we had to go over and over by answering the question before reading.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at asnwering the questions. I need to improve on trying to asnwer the question right.
